Application for Membership

General Policies Applying

  • Visitors are required to attend two meetings before their application will be considered.
  • Applications will only be considered for open seats, there can be no crossover, however small, into the category of any other member.
  • Should a visitor wish to apply for membership, an application form must be completed in full, with the names/contact details of two business references noted thereon.
  • Membership will only be granted on completion of application process.

Attendance

  • Meetings are held every Friday morning, from 7.15 -8.15 am.
  • Attendance every week is vital for the success of the group - not just in terms of familiarising yourself with the other members, but also in terms of educating others about your business, thus helping them understand how best to create business Opportunities for you.
  • There are approximately 45 meetings in the year and members are to have an attendance of at/above 60%. Should it be necessary to miss a meeting, members can arrange for a substitute to attend on their behalf. This then will not count as an absence.
  • Attendance records will be sent out to members at the end of every quarter and will include attendance rate over the last quarters and the last 2 quarters combined (rolling 2 quarters) . If a member is under the 60% attendance on a quarter, they will have the opportunity to bring their attendance up to 60% (rolling 2 quarters) through the coming quarter. Its expected that all members will reach the 60% attendance target on any 2 rolling quarters as well as annually. Where a member is consistently missing the attendance percentage they may be asked to leave and their seat will be opened. If they wish to reapply they may as long as their seat is available, but they will have to demonstrate how they mean to comply with attendance levels to the satisfaction of the chairperson.
  • Apologies for absenteeism must be sent to the group via Group Message no later than 24hrs before the start of the upcoming meeting.

Membership

  • A member can only occupy one seat at a time and that must be their primary seat.
  • All members are required to familiarise themselves with the business of fellow members.
  • Our goal is to create business opportunities and to get quality referrals for each other.
  • Each member must give a 10 min presentation on their business to better educate members
  • Each member is required to add their business Bio to the network website www.midwestbusinessnetwork.com)
  • One-to-one meetings are important and encouraged.
  • From time-to-time the group will hold social events to help build and bond the group. All members are required to attend if possible.

Opportunities

An opportunity or business opportunity is defined as an opening for a member of the Midwest Business Network to do business with a client/contact of a fellow Midwest Business Network member, and where the client/contact actively requests an introduction to this member.
